Job Title – Contracts Manager (NHS)

Location – Glasgow City Centre

Optical Express Group is a leading provider of ophthalmology services in the UK and Europe. We deliver exceptional patient care and outstanding clinical outcomes, investing in our people and technology.

As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to work with our sister company ACES, interacting with key decision makers at the NHS, including Integrated Care Boards in England and Health Boards in other areas of the UK.

ACES is an independent provider of NHS eye care services, supporting the NHS while providing patients with the highest standards of clinical care.

We use the latest ophthalmic technology to consistently deliver excellent clinical outcomes for our patients, improving their quality of life.

We have been providing NHS eye care in the East of England since 2007 and are expanding across the UK. Our services include Cataract, Yag Laser Treatment, Glaucoma, Oculoplastics, and General Ophthalmology.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain contractual relationships with ICBs in England and comparative bodies in other jurisdictions to deliver ophthalmic services for patients in the local area.
  2. Maintain strong relationships with bodies where contracts are held, seeking to offer additional support and ensure contractual obligations are met.
  3. Coordinate and project manage the development of new processes to fulfill contractual obligations.
  4. Respond to tender opportunities and project manage support required from across the business to return the best possible tender response, aiming to win new business.
  5. Develop new systems to support the business with tenders and contractual responsibilities, such as a tender library.
  6. Attend key strategic meetings with partner organizations to work for mutual benefit and ensure the business is appraised of new strategy and central government directives.

Experience and Knowledge

  1. Experience of working within a multi-site clinical environment and knowledge of the NHS policy landscape would be advantageous, but it is not essential.
  2. Previous experience of working in an optical or ophthalmic environment would be beneficial.
  3. Business-to-business contract management within a healthcare setting.
