About the Role

The Contracts and Commissioning Team at North Somerset Council is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Contracts and Commissioning Officer. This role will involve taking a lead responsibility for domiciliary care contract management and commissioning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake procurement and commissioning processes, adhering to statutory responsibilities
  • Work with a wide range of Independent Providers, teams within the Council, and partners to develop and manage contracts
  • Manage and organise own workload, collecting and collating evidence to present findings as the subject expert
  • Engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders, negotiating to secure value for money
  • Have a sound understanding of financial constraints within the Adult Social Care sector and adult care legislation in line with CQC requirements
Requirements
  • Experience of working within a contracts or commissioning area, responsible for processes associated with specifications, tendering, letting, and management of contracts
  • Excellent communication skills, a commitment to improving services, and developing the market with the ability to motivate others
  • Valid driving licence and own transport, or ability to provide alternative suitable method of travel
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check
Working Arrangements

This role will be home and office-based as needed, including a range of domiciliary care service locations across North Somerset.
