Job Title: Contracts and Commissioning Officer

About the Role

The Contracts and Commissioning Team at North Somerset Council is seeking a motivated individual to fill the position of Contracts and Commissioning Officer. This role will involve taking a lead responsibility for domiciliary care contract management and commissioning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake procurement and commissioning processes, adhering to statutory responsibilities
  • Work with a wide range of Independent Providers, Council teams, and partners to develop and manage contracts
  • Manage and organize own workload, collecting and presenting evidence as the subject expert
  • Engage with stakeholders, negotiate to secure value for money, and motivate others to improve services
  • Have a sound understanding of financial constraints within the Adult Social Care sector and adult care legislation in line with CQC requirements

Requirements

  • Experience in contracts or commissioning, responsible for specifications, tendering, letting, and contract management
  • Excellent communication skills, commitment to improving services, and ability to motivate others
  • Valid driving license and own transport, or alternative suitable method of travel
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check

Working Arrangements

This role will involve working from home and office-based, with regular visits to domiciliary care service locations across North Somerset.
