Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Carlisle. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plant.

Salary: up to £44,591.95 per annum DOE

This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with experience working in a process or production environment. You will be responsible for carrying out plant upgrades and modifications, reporting all work through our computerized maintenance management system, and developing a programme of planned preventative maintenance.

In addition to your technical skills, excellent communication and organizational abilities are essential for this role. You will be working closely with experienced technicians and external contractors, so it's essential that you have good interpersonal skills.

The salary for this role is up to £44,591.95 per annum, depending on experience.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  1. Carrying out plant upgrades and modifications
  2. Reporting all work through our computerized maintenance management system
  3. Developing a programme of planned preventative maintenance
  4. Working closely with experienced technicians and external contractors
  5. Ensuring all company policies, processes, and procedures are followed
Essential Criteria for the Maintenance Technician Role:
  1. Experienced Mechanical/Multi-Skilled Engineer working in a process or production environment
  2. A willingness to learn new skills and adapt to a changing environment
  3. An HNC/HND/C+G (or Industry equivalent) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering is preferable but not essential; however, your practical experience should be proven
  4. You will have a good level of experience working to clearly defined KPIs and delivering continuous improvement within an operational environment
  5. Knowledge and practical experience of large Conveyors, Chain Drives, Hydraulics, material Compactors, Shredders, Overhead cranes, and Pneumatics is desirable
