Premier Recruitment Group is delighted to be partnering with a leading manufacturing company in the Maidstone area to recruit a Health and Safety Manager. This exciting opportunity will see you play a pivotal role in shaping the safety and compliance strategy of their operations.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety professional to join our client's team. As a Health and Safety Manager, your primary responsibility will be to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures in line with current legislation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Risk Management: Conduct thorough risk assessments and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Compliance: Manage and monitor all health and safety documentation, including COSHH assessments, accident records, and training logs, to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Training and Development: Deliver health and safety training sessions and toolbox talks to employees, promoting a culture of awareness and understanding.
- Investigations and Audits: Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and recommend preventative measures to minimize future risks. Conduct regular site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Liaison and Communication: Liaise with external bodies, including regulatory authorities, as required, and promote effective communication within the organisation.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A proven track record in a similar Health and Safety role, ideally within manufacturing or a related sector.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (essential).
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent qualification (essential).
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Proactive, organised, and able to work independently.
What We Offer
- A competitive salary ranging from £38,000 to £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
