Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to support the Operational Site Lead in managing the day-to-day operations of a busy parcel distribution depot.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Support: Assist in the oversight of daily depot operations, ensuring compliance with established procedures and standards.
  • Coordinate with the Operational Site Lead: To optimise resource allocation and workflow efficiency.
  • Support the delivery and improvement of key operational metrics: Performance indicators and service levels.
  • Communicate operational performance effectively: Internally and to clients.
  • Follow health and safety, and security procedures: And ensure they are always adhered to.
  • Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their specific operational requirements and contribute to maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Collaborate with the Operational Site Lead: To address client concerns and implement service enhancements.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with depot staff to ensure a cohesive and collaborative working environment.
  • Provide support in leadership activities: And serve as a point of contact alongside the Operational Site Lead.
  • Data Management: Assist in the collection and analysis of operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports: On key operational metrics for review and decision-making.
  • Resource Coordination: Support the management of resources, including personnel, equipment, and facilities, to meet operational demands.
  • Collaborate with the Operational Site Lead: To implement safety measures and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Actively participate in identifying opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the implementation of operational enhancements.
  • Stay informed about industry developments: And integrate relevant best practices into daily operations.
  • Problem-Solving: Assist in addressing operational challenges and implementing corrective actions to maintain smooth operations.
  • Support in resolving escalated issues: And ensure timely communication of resolutions.
Qualifications:
  • Nice to have: Bachelors degree in Business, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in a relevant operational role: Within the parcel delivery or logistics industry is advantageous.
  • Must have: Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when necessary.
  • Proficiency in data analysis: And basic knowledge of analytics tools.
