Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Primary Care Physician to join our team at Ystwyth Medical Group. As a General Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, making professional decisions, and working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to improving quality in Primary Care and will be able to provide evidence-based solutions to problems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake a variety of duties including surgery face-to-face, telephone consultations, and where applicable, visiting patients at home.
  • Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems.
  • Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • Provide counselling and health education.
  • Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
  • Completion of medical records.
Person Specification
  • GMC registration.
  • Currently on the All Wales Performers List.
  • Evidence of other specialist interest/development/training.
Requirements
  • Team skills- ability to communicate with, support and motivate.
  • Self-motivated, flexible and able to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritise work but aware of own limitations.
  • Able to provide evidence-based solutions to problems/issues.
  • Genuine commitment to improve quality in Primary Care.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of GMS contract.
  • Initiative and Innovation.
  • Welsh speaker.
