Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Practice Nurse to join our Defence Medical Services team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients with complex health needs, minor injuries, and illnesses.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, evidence-based, and individualized patient care.
  • Manage the care of patients with chronic illnesses, including asthma, diabetes, chronic heart disease, and hypertension.
  • Undertake technical nursing treatments and procedures, such as wound care, sutures removal, and electrocardiograms.
  • Coordinate the development of plans to meet the health needs of patients, including diagnostic tests, treatment plans, and health promotion.
  • Support the development and delivery of specialist services, such as long-term disease management and regional clinics.

Requirements

  • Professional and specialist knowledge in primary healthcare acquired through postgraduate degree or diploma.
  • Learning and assessing in practice qualification or equivalent practice assessors training.
  • Quality improvement methodology or willingness to undertake training.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Anaphylaxis, Automated External Defibrillation (AED), Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), and Safeguarding training.
  • Level 3 (Children and Adult) or willingness to undertake training.
  • Registered non-medical prescriber or willingness to undertake training.
