We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Nottingham to assist with the appointment of a Child and Family Support Worker, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at client's discretion. Please consider this opportunity for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £12.68 - £16.09 per Hour

Job Description:
  • Undertake direct work with children/young people and their families/carers as appropriate and agreed by the team manager.
  • Under the direction of the social worker, undertake practical support to children and families in crisis.
  • Under the direction of the social worker, liaise with NCC colleagues, partner agencies and other professionals in order to commission services, share information and keep all parties updated regarding circumstances and plans for children/young people.
  • Support the social worker to maintain accurate and relevant case records.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date written records
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade A-C (including English and Maths) OR equivalent.
  • A valid driving licence (unless registered disabled).
  • Knowledge of child development and children's needs.

Candidates should have

  • At least two years' experience of working with children, young people and their families in a social care environment, through paid or voluntary work experience.
  • Experience of working with other agencies, either in the statutory or voluntary sector.
  • Experience of working in a team.
  • Experience of managing challenging situations or conflict.
  • Experience of working to deadlines, managing priorities and ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience of keeping records of work undertaken.
