About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our CAMHS DBT Service. As a Specialist DBT Lead, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and supervision to a team of therapists, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based treatment to adolescents with complex emotional needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to a team of therapists, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based treatment.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care.
  • Contribute to the development of service strategy and delivery of CAMHS priorities and objectives.
  • Represent the service on multiagency groups, communicating complex information and contributing to the overall development of services.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Qualified Clinical Psychologist or Registered Nurse with experience in DBT.
  • Post-qualification training in clinical supervision and DBT.
  • Experience of working with adolescents with complex emotional needs and their families.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable

  • Post-doctoral training in additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
  • Experience of teaching, training, and/or supervision.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment and intervention.
  • Experience of providing DBT in a clinical setting.
  • Ability to demonstrate an area of special interest/skill in DBT.
  • Well-developed skills in communication and consultation.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies in specific difficult-to-treat groups.
  • Understanding of work with young people with disordered eating.
