  • Ensure all commercial vehicles are maintained and serviced in accordance with FTA regulations, current legislation, and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Implement and maintain the Route man's message pad procedure to meet customer service satisfaction levels.
  • Encourage Route man to participate in campaigns to achieve added value service sales.
  • Oversee daily loading and unloading of vehicles, ensuring timely delivery and return to customers.
  • Maintain compliance with Operator's Licence requirements at all times.
  • Plan routes cost-effectively.
  • Establish and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as liaison between customers and the company.
  • Utilize the AS400 computer system effectively.
  • Recruit drivers in consultation with the General Manager.
  • Provide ongoing training for drivers, reviewing their training and development regularly.
  • Forward queries to relevant departments and ensure managers, supervisors, and colleagues are informed as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records where required.
  • Adhere to Company Policy on Health & Safety and COSHH requirements.
  • Comply with Company Policies and Terms and Conditions of Employment.
  • Keep work areas clean, tidy, safe, and secure at all times.
  • Attend training courses as required.
  • Foster and maintain good working relations throughout the company.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company business.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.
