About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Alfa Laval UK&I. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the disassembly and re-assembly of rotating mechanical equipment, including balancing critical components to OEM standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Stripping and cleaning of equipment for service/repair
  • Dismantling and reassembling of gearboxes
  • Rebuilding equipment following guidelines
  • Using technical drawings for disassembly and re-assembly
  • Operating overhead cranes and lifting equipment
  • Understanding of Health and Safety and correct PPE
  • Balancing bowls, conveyors, and gearbox shells using dynamic balancing equipment

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An appropriate apprenticeship or qualification in engineering
  • Experience working with hand, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools from a workshop environment
  • Ability to interpret drawings and technical manuals that include both imperial and metric dimensions
  • Knowledge of a range of workshop-related disciplines and a key understanding of PPE and H&S requirements typical of a workshop environment
