About Avara Foods
Avara Foods is a leading food business in the UK, supplying chicken and turkey to major supermarkets and restaurants.
We own and manage our entire supply chain, from farms to factory and all the way to the customer door.
The company has major processing sites across England and Wales, and an agricultural network of over 350 farms.
Our Wednesbury site
We have invested £4.7 million in state-of-the-art facilities at our Wednesbury site in the West Midlands.
The site is a flagship Added Value centre for Avara, employing over 150 talented individuals.
About the Role
We are seeking an HR Advisor to join our HR Team based at our Wednesbury site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advice on ER matters, ensuring complaints and disciplinary hearings are conducted in line with guidelines.
The role will involve providing guidance to managers on our Absence Policy and Procedures, proactive management of long-term sickness cases, and managing maternity, paternity, and flexible working cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advice on ER matters and ensure complaints and disciplinary hearings are conducted in line with guidelines.
- Provide guidance to managers on our Absence Policy and Procedures.
- Proactive management of long-term sickness cases.
- Manage maternity, paternity, and flexible working cases.
- Process new starters, leavers, and contractual changes.
- Support managers with probationary review meetings.
- Manage and review 60 hours process flagging breaches/potential breaches.
- Support with HR-related projects.
- Respond to telephone and email queries.
- Carry out exit interviews and record data.
- Support the Resourcing department and line managers with interviews.
Requirements
- Up-to-date experience and confident usage of Microsoft Office and HR packages.
- Good working knowledge of employment law.
- CIPD qualified or working towards is desirable.
- Experience of working within a manufacturing or fast-paced organisation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask.
- Drive to improve performance and deliver outstanding results.
- Results-oriented with an emphasis on quality and teamwork.
- Methodical with an attention to detail.
- Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external contacts.
- Ability to handle conflict/confrontation effectively.
- A high level of personal integrity.
