Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Long-Term Teachers Limited. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in a school setting.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position that requires a candidate with experience in SEN/SEMH and/or pastoral care. The successful candidate will have the ability to work with a pupil who is non-verbal and has complex behavioural needs. You will be responsible for providing individualized support to the pupil, developing and implementing personalized learning plans, and collaborating with the teaching staff to ensure the pupil's needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to pupils with SEND, including developing and implementing personalized learning plans
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure the pupil's needs are met
  • Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and teaching staff
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of the school's SEND policy
Requirements:
  • Experience in SEN/SEMH and/or pastoral care
  • Ability to work with pupils who have complex behavioural needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comprehensive knowledge of support/intervention programmes for SEND
