About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced 2nd Chef to join our culinary team at Abbotswood Court, a luxury residential and dementia care home in Romsey, near Southampton.

As a 2nd Chef, you will play a key role in ensuring that mealtimes are a highlight of our residents' day by preparing and serving appetizing freshly produced food, from local suppliers where possible, while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and health and safety.

You will work closely with the Head Chef to create menus that cater to the diverse needs and preferences of our residents, and ensure that all catering for private events is of the highest standard.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing exceptional food and has at least 2 year's catering experience, ideally Chef de Partie level with NVQ 2/3.

You will be mentored and trained further by the Head Chef and encouraged to contribute to the kitchen's ideas and menus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to the highest standard
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to create menus and ensure that all catering is of the highest standard
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and health and safety in the kitchen
  • Supervise and train junior staff members
  • Contribute to the kitchen's ideas and menus
