Job Opportunity: Oncology/Haematology Pharmacist

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist to join our team in West London, working in a dynamic NHS Hospital Pharmacy Department. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a specialist cancer service, providing high-quality care to patients with haematological and oncological conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Screening Oncology and Haematology prescriptions for the Chemotherapy day unit and Haematology day unit.
  • Providing a ward-based and day-care specialist pharmacy cancer service to haematology and oncology cancer patients.
  • Developing, providing, managing, and monitoring a safe and effective clinical pharmacy service to haematology and oncology cancer patients.
  • Participating in risk management by actively mitigating medication errors in the service.
  • Supporting the provision of supervision, support, and clinical training for pharmacy colleagues and other healthcare professionals around medicines management for cancer services.
  • Making cost-effective recommendations without compromising patient care.
  • Deputising for the lead pharmacist in their absence.
  • Communicating complex drug or medicine-related information to patients and relatives in prescription medication counselling, drug history taking, and reviewing prescription.
Requirements:
  • Experience in Oncology and/or Haematology.
  • Completed the SACT passport.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
