Deputy Manager Role Overview

YHA Brecon Beacons is seeking a Deputy Manager to support the hostel manager in the day-to-day operational management of the hostel and delivering an excellent customer experience.

The successful candidate will contribute to the achievement of targets across all aspects of the hostel operation, including food and beverage, and will be responsible for maximising revenue while controlling expenditure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the hostel manager in managing a team of employees and occasional volunteers
  • Contribute to the day-to-day operation of the hostel, undertaking housekeeping, reception, and food and beverage tasks
  • Maximise revenue while controlling expenditure
  • Support the achievement of targets across all aspects of the hostel operation

Requirements:

  • Flexibility to cover different shifts and tasks
  • Previous leadership experience and experience managing budgets
  • Food safety level 2 and APLH level 2 qualifications desirable
  • Experience / working knowledge of managing varying pressures, including significant peaks in workload demands
