Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Ornithologist to join our Ecology team, working at the forefront of sustainable infrastructure development addressing significant environmental challenges.

In collaboration with colleagues across various disciplines, you will innovate and enhance our service delivery in areas such as habitat restoration, positive biodiversity outcomes, and nature-based solutions. Additionally, you will contribute to shaping how we collect and analyse our data.

About this Position
  • Manage small to medium projects to deliver high-quality Environmental Impact Assessment and Habitat Regulations Appraisal services.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to shape the Atmos service offering, developing new ideas into practical client services.
  • Work closely with the GIS team to build on expertise and reputation in modelling techniques, including collision risk modelling, spatial modelling, displacement analysis, and population viability analysis.
  • Achieve a collaborative and supportive approach to team working, with flexibility and proactivity in your work.
  • Possess a degree in ecology or a related subject, or demonstrate equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrate health and safety awareness, especially safe working practices and risk assessment related to ecology fieldwork.
  • Show proficiency in IT skills, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Hold a full current driving licence.

The estimated annual salary for this role is £55,000 - £65,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
