Job Description

As a Model Risk Officer, VP/Director at SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of model risk across the organization. This position requires a strong understanding of risk management principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Model Risk Coordination: Coordinate with central Model Risk Management functions and local RISQ Management teams to ensure effective model risk management.
  2. Single Point of Contact: Serve as the single point of contact for MRM teams and central ALM model reviewers.
  3. Model Risk Oversight: Oversee the UK-based execution of the model inventory process and contribute to the identification of critical models for SGLB and SGIL.
  4. Communication and Training: Communicate with local model users and ALM model reviewers on good practices and guidance from MRM and ALM central teams, and train local BUs and SUs on new tools and processes.
Requirements
  • Broad understanding of risk management and model risk in a banking environment.
  • Attention to detail and rigorous approach.
  • Autonomous and able to raise alerts appropriately to management.
  • Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create good relationships with stakeholders across different departments and geographies.
  • Capability to prioritize and organize.
  • Experience in previous roles on Risk management and ideally on Model Risk.
  • Relevant industries: Banking, Prime Brokerage, Capital markets.
  • Developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Very good command of written and oral English.
  • Some familiarity with French useful.
