Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled cardiologist to support our existing team delivering an elective and urgent interventional service. The post involves a commitment to a 1:6 interventional week day on call and a 1:6 weekend interventional/general cardiology on call which includes coronary care ward rounds, cardiology ward reviews, and hospital referrals.

Main Duties

  • Cover for PPCI whilst on call
  • Participate in COW as per rota
  • Perform job planned clinics
  • Teach and educate central doctors on ward
  • Contribute to MDT meetings
  • Triage referrals
  • Contribute to on-call
  • Participate in in-reach to AMU
  • Travel to WCH to cover ward/patients
  • DSE/TOE procedures

Qualifications and Experience

  • Valid Full Registration with the General Medical Council
  • Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register CCT/CESR
  • Membership of the Royal College Physicians or equivalent
  • Completion of Accredited UK Coronary Intervention Training Program
  • Experience of DSE and TOE procedures
  • Higher medical degree

  • Proven track record in undertaking research projects
