VANRATH is delighted to partner with a reputable client in Newry to recruit an experienced Assistant Accountant. This is a fantastic chance to join a long-standing organization and contribute to the success of their finance team.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and associated reports, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Manage the general ledger, ensuring proper reconciliation of ledger accounts and maintaining a high level of financial accuracy.
- Oversee and reconcile company bank accounts, providing insightful analysis and recommendations for improvement.
- Contribute to the upkeep of the fixed asset register, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
- Support the preparation of VAT returns and related documentation, ensuring seamless compliance with tax laws.
- Participate in the development of the annual financial budget, working closely with senior management to achieve financial goals.
- Reconcile and analyze key balance sheet accounts, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide support for additional financial tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- At least 2 years of experience in a finance-related role, with a proven track record of success.
- Demonstrated experience in assisting with the creation of management accounts, with a strong understanding of financial regulations.
- Proficiency in maintaining the general ledger and account reconciliation, with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience in managing and reconciling company bank accounts, including balance sheet analysis and financial reporting.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
