Job Description:
Leidos Holding is seeking a skilled Airport Security Systems Engineer to join our team in the Southern region, covering Luton and Stansted airports. As a key member of our national team of 8 close-knit engineers, you will provide technical and customer support for installed airport passenger and baggage security systems.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for providing technical assistance to customers and resolving issues with airport security systems.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and test various airport passenger and baggage security systems, including X-ray and CT-based equipment.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled Corrective Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, and radiation surveys.
  • Maintain calibration on all test and radiation survey equipment.
  • Provide training and technical support to customers on installed systems and equipment.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent military training.
  • At least 3 years of experience in field service, preferably in an integrated systems technologies environment.
  • Prior experience in X-ray or computed tomography technologies, especially in the airport security environment, is a significant plus.
  • Experience maintaining and supporting large, complex electromechanical systems.
  • Computer skills required, with Linux and Unix experience preferred.
  • Must be proficient in using test equipment (DVM) and have experience with High Voltage and X-ray producing equipment.
  • Good communication and customer service skills are essential.
  • Able to work under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and accept responsibility for timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Able to travel both domestically and internationally.
  • Able to lift/carry a minimum of 25 kgs and push/pull 90kgs.
  • Able to work safely in environments where high temperatures, humidity, noise, and industrial equipment risks are present.
