Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Project Manager QS to join our team at Connect Transform Sustain (CTS). As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for delivering major planned works projects across NI water sites.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes and methodology, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills. You will be able to maintain oversight of all project activities, identify any issues, and ensure they are resolved promptly.

Main Responsibilities
  • Delivery of major contracts and interpretation of client requirements.
  • Management of client relationships and service delivery.
  • Accurate site measurements and drawing/taking off plans.
  • Preparation of quotations for clients based on site measures and schedules of rates.
  • Project management of live minor works schemes that receive approval.
  • Programming of project resources.
  • Maintenance of cost control of live projects.
  • Performance of a commercial function in preparation with tender bids.
  • Management of directly employed trades.
  • Procurement and management of suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Change control procedures on projects, identifying and agreeing variations.
  • Ensuring information is presented timely and accurately.
  • Preparation of accurate and detailed cost-value analysis.
  • Interim and final account statement preparation and negotiation.
  • Pricing variations and costing compensation events.
  • Representation of the company in a professional and diligent manner.
  • Support of the Head Office helpdesk function.
  • Entry and management of data on CAFM and database IT systems.
  • Upholding Data Protection Policies.
  • Any other ad hoc duties required within the contract.
Health and Safety
  • Adherence to all health and safety regulations and company policy at all times.
  • Reporting of any accidents or issues regarding health and safety appropriately.
  • Ensuring all Risk Assessments and safe systems of work are read, understood, signed, and followed.
  • Delivery of tool box talks to operatives.
  • Completion of monthly QA site audits.
Requirements
  • Recognised Construction Qualification (BSc/HNC/HND).
  • Valid CSR Card or formal Health and Safety Training.
  • Full UK Driving License.
  • 5 years' experience in the construction industry.
  • Experience in Measured Terms Schedules (desirable).
  • Facilities Management Experience (desirable).
Attributes and Skills
  • Possession of an understanding of construction processes and methodology.
  • Understanding of construction measurement principles.
  • Strong IT skills (Excel/Word/Outlook/Databases).
  • Capability of working on own initiative.
  • Ability to work methodically and with attention to detail.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Good timekeeping and attendance record.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of people.
  • Good team player.
  • Demonstration of ability to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Demonstration of a flexible attitude towards assigned tasks.
  • Reliability and commitment.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Participation in overtime when required (including weekends).
  • Ability to take on new skills.
  • Positive approach to continuous improvement processes and techniques.
