Receptionist / Administrator Position

Job Summary
This is a fixed-term position to support the needs of our healthcare service.
We are seeking an organized and enthusiastic Receptionist to work at our health centre in Tywyn. The practice is currently being managed by the Local Health Board.
Main Duties of the Job
Previous experience in a GP Practice would be beneficial, and knowledge of the EMIS clinical system is desirable. However, training can be provided.
The demands of a GP practice can be challenging, and the post holder will need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills and a confident telephone manner are required, as the post holder will be booking appointments and dealing with patient queries.
Proficient IT skills, including experience of Microsoft office, are also required, as the post holder will be undertaking administrative duties to assist in the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
About the Role
We are looking for an individual who has experience of working in a healthcare setting or a customer service environment. However, full training can be provided to the right candidate.
The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.
Person Specification
Essential
- A good standard of general education
- NVQ Level 2 in administration or equivalent qualification/experience
- Experience of using Microsoft office packages
- Experience of working in a busy reception or office environment
- Experience of dealing with the public on the phone and face to face
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Desirable
- Experience of using an IT system (EMIS, Oracle, WPAS)
- Experience of working in a GP surgery or an NHS office environment
