We are looking for a skilled AAT Assistant Accountant to join our finance team at A G Industries Ltd. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for co-managing the Purchase Ledger function.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Proficiency in using Microsoft package and experience of using Sage is also essential.

The estimated annual salary for this role is £18,000-£30,000, depending on experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Co-managing the Purchase Ledger function, working closely with another Finance Assistant, Financial Controller & Head of Finance
  • Processing purchase invoices accurately, ensuring correct accounting and payment periods are used
  • Matching purchase orders with invoices, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Reconciling supplier statements, chasing missing invoices, and resolving supplier queries
  • Raising and processing supplier payment runs, ensuring remittances are issued and processed efficiently
  • Entering supplier and other payments outside of supplier payment runs
  • Assisting with identifying and supporting improvements to Finance and IT Systems
  • Checking code and department allocation of credit card and expense transactions
  • Ensuring supplier details are maintained, following procedures to verify changes
  • Setting up new suppliers in Sage and carrying out credit checks
  • Supporting the Financial Controller with month-end processes and other financial tasks
  • Assisting with updating Cashflow using Excel
