About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our Biochemistry team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our HCPC registered staff in delivering high-quality laboratory services.

Main Responsibilities

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will be responsible for performing a range of automated, semi-automated, and manual techniques under direct and indirect supervision. You will work closely with our Biomedical Scientists to ensure the safe and accurate delivery of laboratory services, adhering to current standards, clinical governance, health and safety, and risk management policies.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require an appropriate science NVQ level 3, HCS Apprenticeship Level 2, Certificate of Achievement Part 1, or equivalent experience. You will also need to demonstrate evidence of training and development within a relevant pathology discipline, including working knowledge of laboratory areas, practical and theoretical knowledge of laboratory methods, and competence in processing a range of tests and specimens.
