About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our Engineering Team at Optamor. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the concurrent engineering of our current range of electric vehicles, focusing on the definition and delivery of software vehicle features.

Key Responsibilities
  • Systems Engineering: Define and deliver software vehicle features, ensuring alignment with electrical architecture and meeting quality, safety, and legal requirements.
  • Complex Feature Management: Own and manage complex distributed vehicle features, from definition to delivery, in multiple vehicle domains.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with Electrical and Software architectures teams to ensure vehicle features and interfaces align with electrical architecture.
  • Project Support: Provide support to Project Engineers and Tier 1 suppliers, ensuring common technical understanding of vehicle software features.
  • Certification and Validation: Support coordination and execution of certification activities where needed.
  • Network Database Updates: Work with the Digital Architecture team to ensure network database updates supporting distributed functions are correctly specified and implemented.
  • Test Strategies: Collaborate with the Verification and Validation team to ensure test strategies and plans are adequate and provide sufficient coverage.
  • Engineering Changes and Issues: Manage engineering changes and issues that occur during the engineering lifecycle.
  • Mentorship and Support: Support and mentor junior members of the team.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in systems engineering delivering software-controlled, distributed functions from conception to launch within an automotive EV engineering environment.
  • Domain Expertise: Demonstrable experience delivering vehicle components and functions on multiple vehicle domains, including Chassis, Body, Powertrain, Autonomous Drive, Digital Cockpit, Infotainment, and Connectivity.
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering: Working knowledge of model-based systems engineering methods, languages, and tools, such as SysML, Capella, ArchiMate, Preevision, etc.
  • Requirements Management: Extensive experience generating and analyzing requirements, with working knowledge of requirements management tools, Polarion, and Doors.
  • Vehicle Electrical Architectures: Working knowledge of vehicle electrical architectures, including domain and zonal architectures, distributed vehicle functions, and networks.
  • Software Architectures and Development Methodologies: Understanding of software architectures and development methodologies, with experience working with or as part of test and validation teams.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Demonstrable experience performing root cause analysis of issues and their impact on vehicle systems and formulating solutions.
  • Tier 1 Suppliers and Technology Partners: Demonstrable experience interfacing with Tier 1 suppliers and technology partners, managing the delivery of distributed vehicle functions to feature implementation plans.
  • Lean and Agile Engineering Frameworks: Demonstrated experience delivering within lean and/or agile engineering frameworks and throughout the full product lifecycle activities.
  • Functional Safety and Cybersecurity: Knowledge of Functional Safety and Cybersecurity standards, and experience with regulatory compliance processes.
  • Education and Certifications: Possession of an Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Automotive, or similar honors degree. Other recognized qualifications combined with relevant experience will be considered. INCOSE CSEP or ASEP would be advantageous.
  • Language and Travel: Full driving license is essential, and no visa or other restrictions for working in the UK or traveling abroad.
