About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our team at Rainbow Trust Children's Charity. As a Family Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing expert practical and emotional support to families who have a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide needs-led emotional, social, and practical support to families, working in partnership with health, education, and social care professionals.
  • Take responsibility for delivering a high-quality family support service, ensuring that families receive the support they need to make the most of their time together.
  • Work collaboratively with the Family Support Manager and other team members to ensure the delivery of a high-quality service.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with families, understanding their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Provide bereavement support to families, understanding processes of grief, loss, and change, and helping others to deal with its impact.
Requirements
  • Experience in child health, education, or social care, with a recognized qualification in education, health, or social care.
  • A warm, inclusive approach to achieving goals quickly and correctly.
  • Practiced in child protection, information sharing, and data protection, with the ability to lead by example.
  • Practical and people-oriented, with the ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining accuracy.
  • A persuasive and open communicator, with the ability to work collaboratively with the team and volunteers.
