About the School


Located in a lovely residential area, this vibrant and fun primary school based in Cambridge is seeking an Academic Leader for Upper Key Stage 2. This dynamic role will play a crucial part in driving attainment and creating engaging lessons for our hardworking, caring, inquisitive, and imaginative pupils.


The successful candidate will be responsible for the pastoral care of children taking their final steps in Key stage 2, promoting teamwork, and cultivating a conducive learning environment. As an experienced teacher with excellent communication skills, you will teach the Key stage 2 curriculum to groups of children while focusing on each individual child's learning targets, encouraging their strengths, and improving their weaknesses.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Pastoral care of children in Year 6
  • Taught Key stage 2 curriculum to small groups of children
  • Focused on each individual child's learning targets, encouraging strengths and improving weaknesses
  • Developed maths ability through introducing fractions, statistics, and geometry
  • Helped children develop their writing ability by creating plots, characters, and settings for stories

Requirements:



  • Relevant qualifications (Experienced teachers welcome to apply)
  • Able to commute to Cambridge on a daily basis
  • Experience teaching Upper Key stage 2
  • Confidence to hit the ground running, proactively lead a class, and manage behaviour in line with school policies

Salary and Benefits


We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits package including pension scheme, life insurance, and professional development opportunities.
