The role involves working closely with the R&D Tax Manager and reporting directly to them. Key responsibilities include:

  • Specializing in UK R&D grants and tax incentives to maximize benefits for innovative businesses.
  • Independently assessing and writing the R&D claims process for SMEs and large companies.
  • Advising clients on improving the performance of their R&D strategy and innovation management.
  • Engaging with senior technical and software personnel to gain a thorough understanding of projects and ascertain how specific elements align with the R&D Guidelines.
  • Participating in discussions with high-profile stakeholders.
  • Becoming involved in strategic decision-making within FI Group.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A technical background in Software Development or Computer Science (e.g., BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng, or PhD).
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Knowledge or experience in the UK Financial Sector is advantageous but not essential.
  • A genuine interest in joining the consulting world and growing in this environment.
  • Experience working on software projects in a university setting and dealing with deadlines or different tools.
  • Autonomy, persistence, and proactivity, with a strong desire for challenge and a willingness to step out of your comfort zone.
  • Ability to build good relationships with colleagues and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
