Role Overview

This is a full-time, permanent position as a Senior Administrative Coordinator for the Centre for Global Governance and Security at Chatham House, a world-leading independent policy institute based in London. As a global think tank, our mission is to help build a sustainably secure, prosperous and just world.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced administrative coordinator to support the centre's activities and outputs by providing coordination across financial administration, events, publications, and research projects and proposals. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.

Main Responsibilities
  • Financial Administration
    • Manage general office systems, including financial records, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures;
    • Raise and process invoices, manage expense claims and credit card statements;
    • Support proposal development and project management by assisting with budgeting and financial reporting;
  • Events Coordination
    • Coordinate events, including room bookings, attendance, travel, and accommodation arrangements;
    • Provide logistical support as needed, including technical equipment and materials;
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Ensure timely internal communications on activities and news amongst staff, consultants, and Associate Fellows;
    • Build positive relationships with colleagues and create a positive working culture;
  • Strategy and Support
    • Assist the Centre Manager and Leads in producing financial forecasts;
    • Experience in coordinating and delivering high-quality events for online meeting platforms and large in-person events;
    • Good IT skills and familiarity with Office 365 suite (including Excel);
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills;
  • Proven experience in financial administration, event coordination, and communication roles;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with colleagues;
  • Good command of English language and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications;
  • Experience with databases/CRM software is desirable.
Benefits

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits package including approximately 37 days of annual leave, pension salary exchange, employee assistance programme, parental leave, flexible working, and other benefits designed to suit your lifestyle.
