Our goal is to reach a turnover of £1 billion within the next 5 years, and we are currently seeking a skilled Accounts Payable Officer to join our team in Widnes.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for processing suppliers' invoices to the Accounts Payable (AP) system, ensuring that all relevant documentation is accurate and complete to enable timely payment to creditors. Key responsibilities will include:
- Authorizing invoices and reconciling supplier statements
- Dealing efficiently with supplier enquiries by telephone or other communication
- Shared responsibility for the filing of documents held within purchase ledgers
Key Responsibilities
The Accounts Payable Officer will be responsible for:
- Processing invoices and registering supplier invoices via Continia (OCR system)
- Matching invoices to a valid Purchase Order (PO) and Goods Received note (GRN) – 3 way matching
- Resolving Price Queries with Buyers and resolving Receipt and Proof of delivery issues with Site Managers
- Assisting with the raising of weekly payment runs and monthly reconciliation of Supplier statements
- Resolving debit balances on Vendor accounts and dealing efficiently with Supplier enquiries
- Shared responsibility for clearing down inboxes and filing documents held within purchase ledgers
Requirements
To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to have:
- 1 year of experience in purchase ledger or accounts payable
- Excellent eye for detail and ability to work accurately and efficiently
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Working Arrangements
This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be required to commute to our office in Widnes, Cheshire.
