SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team at a special school in Dawlish. The school caters for over 200 students aged 3-19 with a range of special educational needs.

About the Role:

As an HLTA, you will be instrumental in delivering tailored support to students with special educational needs, helping them achieve their academic and personal development goals. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-quality classroom support, including covering lessons when necessary
  • Assisting with planning and delivering targeted learning activities for pupils with SEN
  • Working closely with teachers to implement personalised learning plans
  • Leading small group interventions or 1:1 sessions to support students' progress
  • Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting students' independence and confidence
  • Supporting students in both educational and social aspects of their school day, including residential care settings
