About the Role:

As an IT Provision and Support Specialist, you will be responsible for monitoring and acting on the IT needs and requirements of staff and students within the school.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the school's Office 365 and Google Suite environment, ensuring accounts are accessible and have access to the required shared drives and groups.
  • Upgrade the school MIS system (SIMS/FMS).
  • Provide classroom audio and visual support (Projectors and Interactive Screens).
  • Manage printers (PaperCut).
  • Handle hardware repairs and replacements (Windows PCs, Chromebooks, and iPads).
  • Install locally required software.
  • Reimage school devices (MDT).
  • Perform basic VoIP changes such as name changes and holiday messages.
  • Escalate tickets for additional support.
  • Distribute staff and student accounts (Salamander).
  • Distribute staff Identification Badges (Paxton and Inventory).
  • Proactively check classrooms and equipment to ensure readiness for use.
  • Relocate office/classroom IT equipment as needed.
  • Maintain the asset register for IT devices (Parago).
  • Manage the deployment of IT devices around the school.
  • Manage and update the school's IT contracts and licenses.
  • Support staff training to enhance their knowledge and use of IT within the school.
  • Respond quickly to any abuse of the IT infrastructure, reporting to Covue IT and the school contact.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar IT Technician or IT Support role, ideally within an educational environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues across various IT systems, including desktops, laptops, printers, and networking equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of IT hardware, software, and networking principles.
  • Strong understanding of cyber-security practices and data protection requirements (GDPR).
