About the Role

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with vulnerable and care-experienced children, young people, families, and carers in health or local authority settings. You will be working as part of our Psychologically Informed Partnership Approach (PIPA) service, which provides a psychological and trauma-informed service to vulnerable and care-experienced children and young people, up to the age of 25, as well as their families, carers, and the staff who work with them.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality psychological assessments, interventions, and consultations to children and young people with complex mental health needs.
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and undertake care co-ordination/lead practitioner responsibilities.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based psychological therapies for individuals, carers, families, and groups.
  • Provide consultation, teaching, and training to health and local authority colleagues.
Person Specification
  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical/counselling/forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS.
  • Trained in clinical supervision and the supervision of doctoral trainees.
  • Trained in care co-ordination.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
