Job Description

Job Title: Part Time Shift Leader

Job Summary:

Skyline Chili is seeking a Part Time Shift Leader to join our team. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment, training and monitoring food safety procedures, and leading and demonstrating exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe and secure environment: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, follow Skyline policy and procedures, and ensure all employees follow company protocols.
  • Train and monitor food safety procedures: Train team members on food safety procedures, monitor and reinforce proper food handling and preparation techniques, and ensure all employees follow company food safety protocols.
  • Lead and demonstrate exceptional customer service: Lead by example, demonstrate Skyline Time service, and ensure all employees provide exceptional customer service.
  • Supervise team members: Supervise team members, prepare food to ensure quality products are served, and follow up with team members regarding food preparation and company procedures.
  • Monitor labor usage: Monitor labor usage against sales and act when necessary to ensure efficient labor management.
  • Execute cash control procedures: Execute, train, and monitor proper cash control procedures to ensure accurate and efficient cash handling.
  • Provide ongoing coaching: Provide ongoing coaching to team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Perform other job-related duties: Perform other job-related duties as assigned or required.

Work Requirements and Physical Demands:

  • Able to work a variety of schedules: Work a variety of schedules in accordance with business needs and customary scheduling requirements.
  • May be required to transfer locations: May be required to transfer from one location to another as business needs dictate.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking: Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
  • Lifting and carrying: Must be able to lift up to and including 50 lb. cases, spaghetti lugs, bus tubs, trash cans, and any other item up to that weight.
  • Effective use of kitchen equipment: Able to effectively and safely use kitchen equipment.
  • Basic math and computer skills: Possess basic math and computer skills.
  • Professional image and appearance: Displays professional and appropriate image and appearance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Restaurant or supervisory experience: 1 or more years of restaurant or supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance: Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required.
