We are looking for an experienced and qualified Early Years Room Leader to work with a wonderful team based at Ofsted OUTSTANDING nursery in Altrincham, Cheshire .

This is a full time post for 40 hours per week all year round however part-time hours of minimum 3 days (24 hours) will be considered as part of a job share.


The nursery has an outstanding reputation in the local community and is in a prime location with excellent commuter links locally.

There are excellent shops and facilities in the village, perfect for a lunchtime walk.

To apply for this role, you must hold a minimum Level 3 Childcare qualification and have previous experience working with children, ideally as an Early Years Educator, Nursery Practitioner, Nursery Room Leader or Nursery Nurse

Except for occasional training you are not required to work evening or weekends.

The setting is closed on all bank holidays, we also do not open on Christmas Eve The nursery closes over Christmas until the first working day in the New Year.

The Room Leader's main duties


Plan, prepare and support the smooth running of a creative and playful curriculum with colleagues in line with The Early Years Foundation Stage.

Conduct baseline assessments and age appropriate assessments based on children's individual development.
Support children's settling in visits, inductions, and room transitions.
Communicate with parents/carers about their child's development and keep them involved.
Support and mentor team members with their Continual Professional Development.

Key Skills

Must be Childcare Level 3 qualified (Essential)
Experience working as a Room Leader (Desirable)
Good knowledge of EYFS (Essential)
Good knowledge of safeguarding (Essential)
Minimum 1 year room leader experience (Desirable)
Minimum 2 years' leadership experience (Desirable)
