Phlebotomist and Healthcare Assistant

We are looking for experienced HCAs to work as part of our health checks and phlebotomy team at GP World Limited. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our services.
Salary: £18-25 per hour, depending on experience
Location: Worcester
Job DescriptionIn this role, you will be responsible for re-confirming participant details, taking measurements, drawing blood samples, and checking the welfare of participants. You will also be required to prepare boxes containing samples to be collected by the courier.
Key Responsibilities:
- Re-confirm participant details before commencement of appointment
- Complete height, weight and waist measurements captured; take heart rate and blood pressure checks and input result data on the system
- Draw two blood samples, label and store correctly in fixed and mobile locations
- Check the welfare of the participant throughout the appointment, escalating as required
- Offer signposting, advice and guidance to participants as relevant
- Prepare boxes containing samples to be collected by the courier
- Minimum of one year's active experience drawing blood (as validated through competency checklist and references during recruitment process)
Service Overview:
- 600,000 participants over the age of 18
- A seven days per week service, running Monday to Sunday, linked to laboratory opening hours, and open from 08:15 to 16:45 to ensure maximum accessibility to participants
- The service will be delivered across various regions in North East of England, North West of England, West & East Midlands, East, South East & South West of England, comprising of fixed locations and mobile sites
