Your new employer is an SME Contractor based in Lincolnshire, seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor or Graduate Quantity Surveyor - Pre-Construction to join their operational team. This well-established company operates across the UK and plans to deliver various projects.

This contractor has an impressive portfolio of builds and refurbishments across sectors including education, healthcare, public sector, leisure, residential, and hospitality. The successful candidate will be responsible for aiding with all front-end activities, reporting to the Construction Manager and working closely with the Operational Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out day-to-day administration of commercial and financial aspects of project bids.
  • Closely liaising with Project Management Teams.
  • Contributing to monthly board reports via the Construction Manager.

To succeed in this role, you will have prior experience as a Quantity Surveyor at the pre-construction stage for a construction company or solid experience ready to take a step into a more senior role. Strong negotiation skills are required to work with subcontractors and clients to reach positive commercial terms and minimize risks.

You must have good technical knowledge and skills in the construction sector and a good understanding of commonly used contracts and frameworks. A degree/HND or equivalent in Commercial Management/Quantity Surveying or other construction-related subject is preferred; alternatively, substantial previous experience in a similar position is also acceptable.

A commercially astute individual who takes ownership of performance and possesses intermediate to advanced Excel skills is ideal for this role. Ability to deal with large amounts of data accurately and efficiently is also required.
