Job Description: ESD Recruitment is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager with a strong background in groundworks to fill this key role. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with local regulations and company standards.
  2. Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments, particularly focusing on groundworks activities.
  3. Provide training and support to staff on health and safety practices and emergency procedures.
  4. Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  5. Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities, incidents, and compliance.
  6. Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure all necessary permits and certifications are obtained and maintained.
  7. Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement across the organization.
Qualifications and Skills:
  1. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in occupational health and safety.
  2. Proven experience in a health and safety management role, specifically within the groundworks sector.
  3. Strong knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and best practices.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to lead and influence others in a positive manner.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
