Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our Medicines Management Team at the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacy professional to utilize their expertise in medicines management, governance, and technical pharmacy knowledge to improve patient care and compliance within the trust.

About the Role
  • To provide specialist technical pharmacy expertise to LAS in order to improve the quality of patient care and compliance in accordance with UK Law and associated medicines legislation.
  • Undertake the role of a rotational pharmacy technician in the Medicines Packing Unit, Medicines Governance and Integrated Urgent Care/111 (IUC/111).
  • Manage the procurement, distribution and supply of pharmaceutical products based on clinical need and cost-effective support the implementation and maintenance of medicines governance systems and processes across the LAS.
Main Responsibilities
  • Effectively supervise the Medicines Distribution & Logistics Medicines Store and ensuring that demand of medicines is met across the Trust and that medicines are kept in a secure manner.
  • To use specialist knowledge, to further develop the role and understanding of medicines management within LAS.
  • Support the development and delivery medicine management training, if required and agreed for a range of individuals including clinicians and non-clinicians.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, be able to work autonomously, and take responsibility for decisions. Additionally, they should have excellent communication skills and be able to travel to different sites across LAS as necessary.

A competitive salary of £40,000 - £55,000 per annum is offered for this role, reflecting the importance of the position in driving high-quality patient care and service delivery within the trust.
