About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Technology Lawyer to join our team at Acturis Ltd. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide specialist commercial and technology-related legal advice to support the growth and success of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial Contract Management
    • Negotiate, draft, review, and advise on a broad range of commercial technology contracts, including SaaS Agreements, Software Development, License and Maintenance Agreements, Integration/Interface/Data Transfer Agreements, and Commercial terms and other legal documents received from customers and suppliers.
  • Data Protection and IP
    • Advise on Data Protection issues, particularly in relation to the implementation of the GDPR, and international expansion, as well as general IP elements of service offerings.
  • Business Support
    • Develop in-depth knowledge of our business and relationships with senior stakeholders to advise on the legal implications (risk/mitigation) of all aspects of a rapidly expanding international business.
    • Proactively follow legal developments, update the business, and plan, advise, and implement legal processes and improvements to support and protect a growing international business.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work proactively, commercially, and pragmatically in partnership with client areas to build a relationship of trust and confidence, to understand business and customer needs.
    • Provide contract/legal development training to business.
    • Report to, and support, Group General Counsel.
    • Manage/provide mentorship to junior members of the Legal team.
Requirements
  • UK Qualified Lawyer with 4-6 years post-qualification experience.
  • Strong private practice training contract gained at a City, West End, or reputable regional law firm.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Experience in a software or new technology company is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills with good attention to detail.
  • Relevant technical skills coupled with the ability to work within a commercial environment in a business-facing role.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the motivation to proactively contribute to the success of this innovative, ambitious, and fast-growing business.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Desire to work proactively as part of a dynamic legal team in a fast-paced environment with direct access to senior decision makers.
