SEND Specialist Tutor Job Opportunity

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Specialist Tutor to deliver bespoke tuition packages on a 1:1 basis to young people with SEND who cannot access mainstream education.

The Role

We are looking for a passionate and creative tutor to support children and young people with SEND in Solihull. Many children with SEND have been disengaged with their learning, and we aim to re-engage them in their education.

As a SEND Specialist Tutor, you will create, plan, and deliver tailored lessons to bridge gaps in pupils' education and boost attainment levels. You may be an experienced tutor or teacher or have experience working with children in a therapeutic way.

Your goal will be to support and re-engage a pupil in their learning, offer structure back into their daily routine, continue their educational development, and return to school.

Contract Details
  1. Location - Various locations across Solihull
  2. Position - SEND Specialist Tutor
  3. Type of work - Contract
  4. Duration - Until the pupil is able to reintegrate into a mainstream/special school
  5. Contract type - Temporary
  6. Full-time/part-time - Part time (a minimum of 10 hours per week, per student)
  7. Minimum rate of pay - GBP23 per hour (negotiable)
  8. Hours - Working hours can differentiate, depending on the convenient timings of the family
Requirements
  1. QTS or equivalent
  2. Possess UK classroom teaching experience
  3. PECS/Makaton training preferred but not essential
  4. Be creative, patient, and willing to think outside of the box
  5. Have experience working with challenging behaviour and disengaged pupils
To be Eligible
  1. Hold the right to work in the UK
  2. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  3. Provide two professional child-related references
