School Maintenance Specialist

Job Description:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of school premises, ensuring that all areas are well-maintained and in good working order. This includes performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, monitoring and maintaining heating, lighting, and security systems, managing waste disposal and recycling processes, and assisting with setting up for events and activities.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in education or facilities management;
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills;
- GCSEs or equivalent qualifications;
- Experience in caretaking or facilities management, with an understanding of basic maintenance tasks and cleaning procedures;
Preferred Qualifications:
- First Aid certification;
- Health and Safety training;
Working Conditions:
- Flexible working hours;
- Physical work may be required, with occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment;
- Exposure to variable weather conditions;
