About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Commercial Lawyer to join our team at Clarke Energy. As a key member of our legal department, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on all commercial matters related to our operations.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction law and a proven track record of negotiating complex contracts with clients and suppliers. You will work closely with our senior management team to ensure that our business interests are protected and that we achieve our goals in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and draft complex commercial contracts with clients and suppliers;
  • Provide expert advice on construction law and contractual disputes;
  • Work closely with our project delivery team to ensure that projects are implemented and managed in accordance with signed contracts;
  • Assist in the negotiation of operation and maintenance agreements with customers who have purchased generators/power plants from Clarke Energy;
  • Conduct legal research to stay up-to-date with proposed legislative changes and help implement policies and procedures across the group to ensure compliance with new legislation;

Requirements:

  • England and Wales qualified solicitor with at least 4 years' non-contentious construction law experience;
  • Working knowledge of various standard forms of construction contract including MF/1, FIDIC, NEC, and JCT;
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple work streams and priorities;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a global team;
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines;
  • Friendly and approachable yet robust in any advice given;
  • Highly organized;
  • Receptive to learning new skills both organically and through external training where required.

Salary Range: £80,000 - £120,000 per annum depending on experience.
