Job Description

As a key member of the Bidvest Noonan team, the Deputy Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in leading, supporting, and guiding their team to deliver exceptional service levels and client satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our services and people are developed and operated to the highest standards, driving continuous improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

People:

  • Lead by example, demonstrating a positive attitude and respect for colleagues;
  • Embed our policies and procedures within customer contracts, ensuring best practice people management;
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes to equip colleagues to thrive from day one;
  • Develop colleague skills, knowledge, capabilities, and career pathways through our Pathway to Success programme;
  • Encourage a culture of reward and recognition, acknowledging colleague contributions;
  • Support employee relations and colleague welfare matters, working closely with the Operations Manager and People and Culture Team;
  • Promote a culture of health and well-being, encouraging colleagues to be open about their health and welfare concerns;
  • Support a green agenda across the business;
  • Actively participate in events supporting local charities.

Customer:

  • Be the single point of contact for customers, reinforcing our mission to 'Always be their partner of choice';
  • Ensure colleagues provide a first-class customer experience;
  • Provide support across customer sites, advising on SLAs, KPIs, objectives, and projects;
  • Regularly review performance standards to deliver customer expectations;
  • Interrogate management information systems to inform sound commercial judgement;
  • Identify and manage challenges or risks impacting service delivery and/or the contract;
  • Ensure adherence to all legal requirements;
  • Contribute towards achieving strategic and operational targets and overall business aims.

Growth:

  • Understand our existing customer portfolio and identify opportunities for added value and retention;
  • Contribute to consultative pipeline planning sessions to understand opportunities and develop best solutions;
  • Support business development activity at tender preparation and contract mobilisation;
  • Work closely with the wider leadership teams to discuss actions, innovations, and challenges.

Simplicity:

  • Support innovation and development, maintaining market understanding and proposals for new ways of working;
  • Work collaboratively with the Operations Manager to foster a culture of continuous improvement and exceed customer expectations;
  • Support business change transformation for long-term sustainability;
  • Understand the varying needs of the business, adapting to and managing different and conflicting views of change.

Key Requirements:

  • Demonstrable track record (at least 3 years) in a management/supervisory role within the support services industry;
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity;
  • Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legislative guidelines;
  • GCSE or O Level Maths & English (Essential);
  • Full clean driving licence (Essential);
  • 3rd level qualification in a business discipline or equivalent (Desirable).
