Emergency Response Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Planning Officer to join our dynamic team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. As an integral part of our Emergency Planning Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the Trust's Business Continuity, Emergency Preparedness, Resilience, and Response (EPRR) activities are effectively planned, prepared, and executed.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Head of EPRR in carrying out the Trust's Business Continuity, Emergency Preparedness, Resilience, and Response (EPRR) activities and functions, providing specialist advice, training, and exercising.
- Review and update Business Continuity and EPRR plans, procedures, and On-Call documents, taking the lead on monthly checks of related resources and documents.
- Deputise for the Head of EPRR in their absence, providing advice, guidance, information, and support to the Trust at all levels, and attending EPRR-related meetings and events.
- A good level of understanding of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, including the requirements for Category 1 & 2 responders.
- A sound understanding of the NHS England Core Standards for EPRR.
- Willingness to undertake further training/gain knowledge within the field of EPRR & Business Continuity and keep up to date with emerging risks.
- Diploma in Health Emergency Planning - or be willing to work towards gaining qualification.
- Previous experience of providing administrative support, including taking and producing meeting minutes, reviewing and updating documents (with a high level of attention to detail) and other administrative tasks.
- Experience of working with minimal supervision, using own initiative to prioritise workload effectively, ensuring delivery of most urgent and valuable outcomes.
- A good level of IT skills, knowledge of IT applications, including experience of using the range of Microsoft Office Packages.
- Able to work accurately and efficiently under pressure and sometimes in a fast-changing environment.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including listening and communication skills to successfully engage with staff at all levels across the Trust.
