**Job Description:
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Oracle database systems and PL/SQL code for Electricity Market Settlement Systems.
- Contribute to the design and development of our Advanced Data Service (ADS) data collection system as part of the wider Market-wide Half-Hourly Settlement (MHHS) system development.
- Apply logical thinking and strong problem-solving processes to find efficient solutions for complex business challenges.
- Provide data analysis and technical support involving the Oracle backend for Operations data collection activities as required.
- Write clear documentation to accompany developments, including specifications, technical manuals, user manuals, and use of task tracking systems.
- Participate in regular training/learning activities to maintain and develop skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and working practices.
- Ensure the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by what you do; use work equipment provided safely and cooperate with managers to provide safe systems of work.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as required.
- Experience in Oracle Standard or Enterprise.
- An appropriate professional qualification, degree, or a minimum of 3 years practical experience of developing PL/SQL code.
- Strong experience applying design principles, best practices, and schema design to database systems such as Oracle and SQL Server (MSSQL).
- Supportive and helpful team player with a flexible and positive attitude.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strive to get things right first time.
- Ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing to a range of audiences.
