About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Pertemps Birmingham Industrial. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for the coordination of all Environment, Health & Safety programs and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides Health & Safety expertise for the plant for all new projects and change management activities.
- Understands relevant technical requirements in Environment, Health & Safety and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and Company Policies.
- Ensures appropriate risk assessments are conducted and follow-ups implemented to minimize or eliminate accidents or asset losses that might cause harm to one of the company's employees, contractors or property.
- Facilitates implementation of corrective and preventative actions where required for EHS.
- Ensures the facility standards are in compliance with both Company and government regulations.
- Ensures training and coaching are taking place to drive a safety-perfect culture and to ensure Health & Safety standards and awareness are well understood throughout the plant organization.
- Be a lead for culture change and drive behavioural safety as a way of life.
- Understands the importance of building a good safety culture, working with key stakeholders to drive engagement across both core and non-core populations.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Tech savvy with experience of Windows and an ability to adapt to other systems as and when required.
- Demonstrated ability to create a motivational environment, driving good health and safety culture.
- Technical functional excellence in Health & Safety and demonstrated through leadership.
- Understanding of CDM and some project management skills would be preferable.
- Underlying knowledge of Process Safety Management (such as ATEX, Chemical and Fire Risk Management).
