About the Role

Nouvita Healthcare is seeking a dynamic and inspiring Consultant Psychiatrist to lead our team across our female-only Psychiatric Intensive Care Units and male and female acute wards. As a key figure within our hospital, you will work collaboratively with a multi-professional management team to ensure that our care meets the highest regulatory standards.

This role requires a professional, open culture that empowers our clinical staff to provide exceptional, compassionate care. You will be responsible for developing a comprehensive treatment service that delivers a high-quality response to those suffering from a range of mental health problems based on quality assured evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advice on psychiatric care for clients within their respective service area.
  • Oversee the performance of Consultant Psychiatrists and ensure systems are in place to support appraisal and revalidation.
  • Maintain effective, professional leadership and provide clinical supervision and mentorship.
  • Work with the Responsible Officer to support the appraisal and revalidation process for other Psychiatrists.
  • Represent the business externally at local, regional, and national level.
  • Participate in quality enhancement and service evaluation projects.
  • Lead the CPD programme for the hospital and foster a culture of learning.
  • Provide input and advice on relevant initiatives that require a medical perspective.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Approved Clinician status
  • A member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) and in good CPD standing
  • Current registration with GMC
  • At least five years' experience in an in-patient setting
  • Experience of working in a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and Acute Services
  • Ability to take independent clinical decisions and demonstrate clinical leadership
